On November 3, 2005, our daughter, sister, friend, and fellow musician, Tammy Matz passed away in a tragic car accident. The band took about a year off, and after much thought and plenty of prayer, decided we needed to continue in her memory. No one could ever replace the part that she took in our family, as well as with the band, but we know that she would want us to continue.
Also, friend, Ray Lemke had taken a different job, which left us looking for some help. We recruited Dale (Sluggy) Osterbrink from Wausau, Wisconsin on second trumpet, (formerly of the Band Boys and now with the Greiner Bros) to be part of our "family". For the dancing crowd, we brought in another good friend from Wausau, Wisconsin, Mr. Doug Bloom to share his great tuba talents. "No Doug, you can't have a raise." Here and there, you may find another new face helping us out, but they are doing it for the love of music as well.
The band now travels throughout Wisconsin playing mostly Polka Worship services. We thank the Lord for the opportunity He has given us, which we use to praise HIM and to teach His love, to those who come to worship with us. If you happen to see the band circle and join hands prior to the service, we are thanking GOD for the beautiful day, even if it's 20 below, and pray that we are using the talents that He has provided, to the best of our ability, "by carrying on for those that have gone before us."
"Music, no matter what style, makes me smile! Listen to the sound, that takes away the frown, and let the whole world live in harmony."
Tammy Matz
